Description	:	Henry Kube, just 17 years old in 1883, was moving some cattle across the Elkhorn River just east of the Kube farm (those cousins living in the West Point and Scribner area today know how sinister and treacherous that river can sometimes be). Henry was crossing a sandbar when a violent undercurrent suddenly swept the sand away and Henry was caught in a whirlpool. He was a strong swimmer, but the current was just too much. His body was recovered down river three days later, and he was buried at the cemetery at St. Mary' s Church at Ridgeley, 6 miles south of the Kube...
