Mrs. Grothe was born February 1, 1873, in Schleswig, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kube. When she was 9 years old she, with her parents, came to the United States, and to West Point in Cuming county, Neb., Here she grew to womanhood and met and later married Frank Grothe on October 6, 1891. After their marriage they remained in West Point until 1901, when they moved to Mc Lean, and in 1904 they moved to Randolph and lived there until the last year and a half, when they came to Bloomfield to make their home with their youngest daughter Margaret, now Mrs. Victor Mabeus. Survivors include the widower; six daughters and two sons, Henry Grothe of Potter, Neb Johanna, Sister Gwendolina of St. Jospeh convent at Campbellsport, Wis., Theresa, Mrs. Matt Reineke of Carroll. Ia..
