The couple were the parents of Marvin, Marilyn (Engel).∼Henry Bouwens, 69, of Beaver Crossing, died Friday, Jan. 20. He was born June 4, 1914, at Firth to Cornelius and Jennie Prange Bouwens. He married Fern Smith on Nov. 29, 1933. He was a plant manager for a baking company and a member of the Christian Church-Disciples of Christ at Beaver Crossing, where he served as an elder and chairman of the church board. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. Survivors include his wife, Fern; one son, Marvin and his wife Carolyn Bouwens of Beaver Crossing; one daughter Marilyn and her husband Benny Engel, Jr., of Beaver Crossing; two sisters, Hattie Axtell of Beatrice and Dena (Mrs. Jeff) Siens of Colllinsville, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday, Jan. 23, at the United Methodist Church, Beaver Crossing. Burial was in the Lincoln Memorial Park. Note: obit is in error. Burial location Beaver Crossing Cemetery.
