Mr. Miller was born Dec. 14, 1854, at Kolb Russia. In 1874 he was united in marriage to M. Katherine Kanzler. Mr. Miller was born Dec. 14, 1854, at Kolb Russia. In 1874 he was united in marriage to M. Katherine Kanzler. Two years later, in 1876, the couple emigrated to America and located in Nebraska for a period of eight years. In 1884 they moved to Adams county, where Mr. Miller took up a homestead fives miles west of Ritzville. For many years the deceased farmed the land himself, gaining the reputation of being one of the hard-working, far-seeing pioneers to whose dilligence the county owes much of its present growth. In 1885 he joined the Zion Congregational church, of which he has been a staunch member since. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs Miller, three of who preceded their family in death. Mrs. Miller passed away on May 12, 1920. Survivors of the deceased include two sons; John Miller of Lind and Elmer Miller, instructor in high school at Pasco. A daughter, Mrs. John Kisler, resides in Ritzville, while and other daughter, Mrs. Ida Haag, lives at Pasco. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and a sister in Russia, while a brother, Adam MIller, is known as one of the pioneer farmers of the county. Funeral services were conducted at the Zion Congregational church at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. George L. Zocher. Interment was made in the Ritzville cemetery.
