Relatives in Le Mars and Sioux City were notified early Sunday of the accidental death of Henry N. Kass, 56, former Le Mars resident who died at a Los Angeles hospital Saturday night two hours after being struck by a car while crossing a street in Los Angeles. Mr. Kass born born July 25, 1898 at Remsen. He lived at Le Mars many years but had lived at Los Angeles for the last 30 years. He had been a landscape gardner there many years. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Thoma and Miss Anna Kass both of Sioux City, brothers Julius Kass of Le Mars, Frank Kass of Remsen, and Michael Kass of Salem, S. D. A brother, Theodore preceded him in death. N. A. Thomas left Sioux City by plane today for Los Angeles to make arrangements for the return of the body. *** Le Mars Globe Post, IA, Thursday, March 10, 1955, p15, c3 Henry Kass The body of Henry N. Kass, 56, accident victim, whose home was in Los Angeles, will arrive in Le Mars on Friday. A wake will be held in the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home on Friday night. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Le Mars. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Le Mars. Mr. Kass was a pedestrian on a Los Angeles Street last Saturday night. He was struck by an automobile and died 2 hours later in a hospital. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Thoma and Miss Anna Kass both of Sioux City; three brothers, Julius Kass of Le Mars and Frank Kass of Remsen and Michael Kass of Salem, S. D. (complete story was run in Monday's Globe-Post.)
