Description	:	"Father" LINDE, HENRY PHILLIP—Henry Phillip, son of John Bernard and Anna Marie Linde, was born September 7, 1848, in Schale, Germany. He departed this life at the home of his son, May 9, 1946, at the age of 97 years, 8 months and 3 days. While still a young man, he came to the United States, where he might establish his home and not to have to partake of the rigorous military training of his home land. Read More	"Father" LINDE, HENRY PHILLIP—Henry Phillip, son of John Bernard and Anna Marie Linde, was born September 7, 1848, in Schale, Germany. He departed this life at the home of his son, May 9, 1946, at the age of 97 years, 8 months and 3 days. While still a young man, he came to the United States, where he might establish his home and not to have to partake of the rigorous military training of his home land. In 1879 he came to Nebraska and on May 23, 1884, he received his citizenship papers from Fillmore county. It was here he established his home and spent the remainder of his life. On October 18, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Rixta Margaret Tobiassen, and to this union were born two children, one son, Albert now of Geneva, and one daughter, Martha, now Mrs. Bernhard Frieden of San Diego, Cal. Among his treasured possessions is a copy of his baptismal certificate which was issued by the Reformed church September 17, 1848. Thus his parents looked well to the interest of their child and throughout his life Mr. Linde was a devout reader of his Bible and had an assurance in his closing hours of life through prayer which gave to his family the "Hope which is beyond the veil." There remains to feel the loss of this loved one the son and daughter, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There are other relatives and a large circle of friends. The funeral service was held from the United Brethren church in Geneva Saturday at 2:30 p. m. and was in the charge of Rev. F.V. Mann of York. The hymns were sung by Rev. Maude V. Mann and Miss Minnie Carson was at the piano. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal Sept. 1946
