He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Whelan) Savage in 1977 and by one son, Russell Savage Jr. Mr. Savage was retired from the Celanese Fibers Corporation with 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and attended Central High School, Lonaconing. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus Council 685. He is survived by two sons, James R. Savage, Blacksburg, Virginia and Michael Savage, Cumberland; two brothers, William Savage, Cumberland and Scott Savage, Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Margaret Moomaw, Ridgeley and Marie Riley and Stella Devlin, both of Lonaconing, Md.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
