Description	:	Funeral services were held this afteroon at two o'clock from the Tipton M. E. church for Henry C. Schilling, for more than 45 years a resident of Cedar county. Mr. Schilling had been in failing health for more than a year and passed away Tuesday at the age of 85 years. Henry C. Schilling was born in Germany, 85 years ago, and died at his home in Tipton, Iowa, June 29th, 1926. He came to America 53 years ago when he was 28 years of age. Schilling, for more than 45 years a resident of Cedar county. Mr. Schilling had been in failing health for more than a year and passed away Tuesday at the age of 85 years. Henry C. Schilling was born in Germany, 85 years ago, and died at his home in Tipton, Iowa, June 29th, 1926. He came to America 53 years ago when he was 28 years of age. After living 8 years in Muscatine, he came to Cedar county which has been his home ever since. He was united in marriage 62 years ago next Oct. with Miss Johanna Marquart, who preceded him November 22, 1925. Also one daughter, Elizabeth, Mrs. John Pletcher died twenty years ago last February. There remain to mourn his departure and to cherish his memory, three sons, Charles and Will of Clarence, and Ed of Tipton; three daughters, Mrs. Herman Lorenzen and Mrs. Hanna Dickinson of Tipton, Ia.; Mrs Dave Kelley of Fairport, Iowa; also 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, one brother August Schilling, of Earlville; one sister, Mrs. Peter Blair of Olathe, Colorado and other relatives and friends. Mr. Schilling was a good man and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the church and lived a consistent Christian life. Rev. C. K. Hudson of the Tipton M. E. church officiated at the funeral services held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
