Members of the local bar association, of which, Mr. Anderson was president at the time of his death, acted as pall bearers. Internment was in the Holly Springs Cemetery. Following the previous action of the Henderson County Bar association which had taken steps to honor its deceased member, Charles French Toms, Sr. local member of the bar appeared in court this morning to ask that the resolutions of the association be spread on the minutes of the recorder's court in which he had served as solicitor. The resolutions, which will become a part of the record in that court as a memorial to the deceased attorney were signed by Mr. Toms, as chairman of the committee, E. W. Ewbank, O F. Crowell and R. H. Staton. They are as follows: Resolutions of the Henderson County Bar Association on the death of Hon. Henry S Anderson. Hon. Henry S Anderson of our association, which for 30 years has been a member of the bar of Henderson county, passed away at 7 o'clock on the morning of August 15, 1932 after an extended period of illness. He was born in Henderson county on June 16, 1864, and educated at Judson College, Hendersonville, N.C., and at the University of Kentucky. Licensed to practice law in September 1893, he became a prominent member of the bar. He formed two partnerships during his life, the first being that of Blythe and Anderson. This partnership with the late Judge O V. F. Blythe, during the years that it existed, was considered not only one of the most prosperous, but one of the strongest firms in Western North Carolina. Later he was in partnership with W. B. Byrd, a firm that did an excellent law practice, but was dissolved by reason of ill health of Mr. Anderson. The deceased was a member of the Kedton Lodge 387, F & A M and had served in the state senate. At the age of 16, Mr. Anderson became a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church and later moved his membership to the First Baptist Church at Hendersonville. At the time of his death he was president of the Henderson County Bar association. From 1926 to 1930 he was solicitor of the Henderson county recorder's court and for many years he was referee in bankruptcy in Western North Carolina. In 1893 he married Miss Hattie Osborne. By this marriage there were four children. In 1900 Mrs. Anderson died and in 1901 Mr. Anderson married Miss Elizabeth Woodward. He is survived by Mrs. Anderson and five children, Augustine, William, Esther and Margaret Anderson, and Mrs. George Saunders. A brother, J. M. Anderson and a sister, Mrs. Jane Hamilton also survive him. He did much to build up this city, having developed Columbia Park ( Now Lenox Park) as well as other improvements. Now therefore, be it resolved by the Henderson County Bar association: First, that in the death of Mr. Anderson the Bar of Henderson county has lost one of its most beloved members; a man whose life was integrity will remain over bright in the minds of the people, and the members of the bar. His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him, that nature might stand up. Second, that as an evidence of the deep affection we have for our deceased brother, and that his name may be perpetuated, we request the court, of which he was solicitor, to inscribe these resolutions upon its records, and also that a copy shall be given to the press and his family.
