Description	:	Henry Venton Strickland, a former Villisca resident, died at his home in Denver, Colorado, on Monday, July 19. Paralysis was the cause of Mr. Strickland's death from which he had been suffering for some time. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at one o'clock in Denver and the remains were shipped to Stanton immediately. J. C. Atkinson of that city accompanying them. Coppage, Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Lindquist, Rev. Peterson and family, F. L. Lindquist and Mr. Vetter. Mr. Strickland lived in Page and Montgomery Counties near Villisca the greater part of his life and moved from there to Colorado with his family about fifteen years ago. He farmed in that state for a number of years, but for some time had been unable to work on account of illness. Henry Strickland was born in Ashland County, Ohio, on February 4, 1858 and died July 19, 1915 in Denver, Colorado He was fifty-six years, five months, and fifteen days of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Warne on February 8, 1883, who died on January 14, 1909. To this union was born four children. A daughter, Carrie died in infancy and Elmer, LeRoy and Bertha survive him. His father, mother, and three sisters have preceded him in death, the sister, Mrs. J. C. Atkinson of Stanton being the only remaining member of the family. Mr. Strickland was a member of the Methodist Church. In his last sickness, he was patient and fully realized his condition and was ready and willing to go to those who had gone before him. Villisca Review. Wednesday, July 28, 1915, page 8
