Peters Sr. Thursday Afternoon Died of Sudden Heart Attack At Farm Home Sunday Funeral services for Henry W. Peters Sr. will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist church in La Porte City with the Rev. D.R. Corrick officiating. The Rev. Harold Wagner of Geneseo will assist Rev. Corrick. Peters, 70, died of a sudden heart attack Sunday, April 26 at his farm home eight miles west of La Porte City. He and his wife had attended church services at the Methodist church that morning. He was born June 10, 1889 at Emerson, Neb., the son of Theodore and Freda Peters. Peters married Mary Reninger February 14, 1911, at Hubbard, Neb. and moved to the La Porte City community in 1938 from Emerson. He had farmed in this vicinity since that time. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Odd Fellows lodge. Survivors include his widow, five sons, Henry W. Peters Jr., Ralph, Lloyd all of La Porte City, Ray of Brainard, Minn., and Irwin of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. George Schafer (Pearl) of Grinnel, Mrs. Millard Cook (Esther) of Waterloo and Mrs. Kenneth Rosauer (Mary Ann) also of Waterloo; one sisters, Mrs. Henry Hirsch of Waterbury, Nebr.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the West View cemetery.
