Description	:	Henry Brandenburg Dies Unexpectedly Henry Brandenburg passed away suddenly while performing his duties as custodian at Zion Lutheran Church sometime Friday morning, April 2 at the age of 69. Funeral services wee conducted Tuesday morning, April 6 at Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Adolph Lillich, pastor, officiating. Pallbearers were Carl Prischmann, Lawrence Condon, George Falter, Laurence Iauch, Wm. Weber and Arnold Scheer. Henry Wilhelm Ferdinand Brandenburg was born Nov 20, 1884 at West Point. He was the oldest child of Ferdinand Brandenburg and his wife, Emma. nee Martin. He was baptized in the Lutheran church at West Point and was also confirmed there in 1901. In 1904 the family moved to a farm southeast of Creighton. He stayed at home until he was 21 and then went to Presho, S.D. He remained there until 1914, returning home for a few years. He later went back to South Dakota to farm near Parkston. He again returned to Creighton about 1935, where he remained the rest of his life. the family moved into Creighton about 1920 and after his father's death on Sept. 11, 1921, he lived with his mother. After her death in 1946 he lived alone in Creighton. He worked at many jobs around Creighton, doing mostly carpenter and construction work. He donated many hours of labor in the construction of the new Zion Lutheran Church building. He became a member of the church in 1935 and was a faithful and loyal member, attending the services regularly. He was a member of the Brotherhood and took an active part in the discussions. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Herman and one sister, Agnes. He is survived by nine brothers, Arthur, Conrad and Oscar of Flagler, Colo., Walter of Bonners Ferry, Ida., Otto of Bassett, Helmuth of Arcadia, Fritz of Valentine, Rudolph of Denver, Colo and Carl of Glendale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Sidney (Gerda) Huntzinger of Flagler, Colo. and Mrs. Charlotte Harker of Burlington, Colo. ...The Creighton News 8 April 1954
