| Description | : | Mr. Henry W. Carriker of Goose Creek township died Wednesday morning at 4:30 o'clock, aged about 72 years. Mr. Carriker was one of the best citizens of the county, being noted for his strict honesty and uprightness. He served through the Civil war in McCauley's battalion, being stationed at Wilmington and fort Caswell most of the time. In 1867, two years after the close of the war, he was happily married to Miss Elizabeth Braswell.
