Description	:	Herbert A. Brosz, age 84, passed away May 6, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Herb was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Gackle, N.D., to Reinhold and Johanna Brosz. His family moved to Terry where they worked the family homestead. Brosz, age 84, passed away May 6, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Herb was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Gackle, N.D., to Reinhold and Johanna Brosz. His family moved to Terry where they worked the family homestead. Herb recounted many stories of growing up in Eastern Montana during the Great Depression. During his elementary years, Herbert and his five brothers and sisters attended a one-room school house. Herbert graduated from Huntley Project High School in 1939. He then attended Rocky Mountain College until entering World War II in 1942. Herb fought in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged from the Navy in September 1945. In 1943 Herb married the love of his life, Wanda Nelson. After the war Herb and Wanda moved to Pullman, Wash., where he attended Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine. A little known fact about Herbert was that although he was a man of few words, his fists packed a powerful punch! During his years at Washington State he was a Golden Gloves boxing champion. After graduating from Washington State, Herb and Wanda returned to Montana, where he practiced veterinary medicine for over 30 years. In 1951, Herb was blessed with the precious gift - a daughter. Herb took great pride in Linda and all of her accomplishments. He was proud that his daughter carried on his strong sense of family values. Herb practiced in many of Montana's small communities; he especially loved Miles City. There, he enjoyed the ability to participate in his love of golf, gardening and spending time with dear friends. Herb was a member of the Lions Club, Montana Veterinary Association and Miles City Country Club. Herb will be remembered for his beautiful singing, endearing love of family and firm handshake. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhold and Johanna Brosz; brothers, Harold, Herman, and Richard; sister, Gertrude; and loving wife, Wanda. Herb is survived and will be missed by his sister, Esther Propp of Warden; daughter, Linda (Jesse) Marcel; brother-in-law, James (Donna) Nelson of Helena; eight grandchildren, Marc (Peggy) Murfitt, Aimee (Rhett) Shein, Ashlee (Kyle) Mihelish, Marissa Marcel, MacKenzie Marcel (Nick Bennetts), Denice Marcel, Jay (Patricia) Marcel, John (Kelsey) Marcel; 14 great-grandchildren, Mariah, Madysun, Ragen, Devan, Jake, Kehler, Mikal, McKinlee, Merck (to be born in June), Macin, Anthony, Audrey, Piper, Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Canyon Ferry Road Baptist Church, Friday, May 12, at 2 p.m., with Pastor B.G. Stumberg officiating. Burial will take place at the Veterans Cemetery immediately following services. Pallbearer will be Marc Murfitt.
