He was a member of the Riverview Methodist Church and the Salvation Army Golden Agers. His marriage to Frances Harrod was in Ottumwa [sic], in July of 1939 [sic]. She died March 11 [sic], 1966. He was also preceded in death by a step-daughter. Survivors are one step-son, Leo Sims of Chicago; two grandchildren, including Mrs. Evelyn Gard, who was reared in his home; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Beach of Flint, Mich. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Reece Funeral Home. The Rev. William Rieckhoff of the Riverview Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
