Read More	Find A Grave contributor MT1950 has provided the below info on 01/15/2018 War Veteran Is Buried Monday By Legion Post -- Herbert P Neumann, World War veteran and resident of tis community passed away in the government hospital at Portland Or, on last Wednesday, January 2, following an illness of about two years. He was fifty years of age, and during the past few years and lived on a ranch about sixteen miles south of Terry. Funeral services wee on Monday at Miles City under the direction of the Custer Post # 5 of the American Legion, with pallbearers from the Terry post and other local friends in attendance. The Rev George Reid conducted the services at Graves Chapel, and the services at the grave were in charge of the Legion with a firing squad and bugler form the Custer post. Pallbearers were Fred A Finch, Roy Hubbert, L L Gaffney, Walter VanDusen, Vern Dickson, and HC Stith of Terry, and interment was made in the Miles City cemetery. Herbert Paul Neumann was born on July 26, 1886, at Fort Collins CO. In 1906 he came through this territory overland from Warren Junction WY to Dickinson ND, with a heard of horses, accompanied by "Baldy" Benent. He later went to Miles City and lived on a homestead in Powder RiverCounty, and the following year engaged in the cattle business. Mr Neumann enlisted in the army on April 25, 1918, serving with Company "D" of the 23rd Battation, US Guards. He was discharged on January 3, 1919, at American Lade WA. He worked as foreman for the "Crown" Ranch under Captain Price for ten years following the war, just prior to his entering the government veteran hospital at Portland. He was married on April 7, 1922 to Miss Blanche A Hewitt at Miles City, who with their four children, Ella Florence, Edna Fay, Herbert "Hi," and Hugh Holand, survive hime. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs MJ Hubbard of Wheatland WY, one sister, Mrs Augusta Blankenship of Wheatland, and two brothers, James of Wheatland and Carl of Sutherland. --The Terry Tribune 2-4-1937 p. 1 -------------------------
