Description	:	Hugh R. Neumann, 77, of Miles City, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2011. His family was by his side the last couple of weeks of his life. He had a very full life. Mr. Neumann was born Oct. 30, 1933, at the family home in Ismay, the fourth child of Herbert P. and Blanche A. Neumann. His family was by his side the last couple of weeks of his life. He had a very full life. Mr. Neumann was born Oct. 30, 1933, at the family home in Ismay, the fourth child of Herbert P. and Blanche A. Neumann. He attended grade school at Lincoln Elementary in Miles City and graduated from Custer County High School in 1951. He attended most of his high school class reunions and enjoyed them very much. Hugh worked at Grant's Pool Hall while attending high school. After graduating, he operated the Miles City Ice Plant; was a hod carrier; parts man at Allis Chalmers; worked at Lockheed Aircraft in California; laborer on the steam plants at Colstrip; and his last job before retiring was to work at the Custer County Cemetery. Hugh enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. He was always lending a helping hand to someone. He lived with his mother and took care of her until her death in 1994. Hugh's survivors include his sisters, Ella Gran of Des Moines, Wash., and Edna Mendenhall and Marjorie (Don) Pontius, both of Miles City; his nieces, Joyce Gran of Des Moines, Wash., Rose Ann Mendenhall of Miles City, Kelly (Brock) Campbell and Tracy (Jeff) Lavelle of Billings; his nephews, Glenn Mendenhall and Wade Neumann of Circle, Rob (Amy and Addie) Pontius of Colstrip, Joe Crawford of Anchorage, Alaska, Hal (Susan) Neumann of King Salmon, Alaska, Steve (Melody) Reinhart of Shepherd and Darrell (Rhonda) Reinhart of Miles City; and his sister-in-law, JoAnn Reinhart of Miles City. Many more great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, good friends and classmates also survive him. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Harry J. Reinhart; his brothers and sisters, Herbert "Hi" Neumann, Mary (Reinhart) Crawford and Howard and Ray Reinhart; his brothers-in-law, Henry Gran and C.E. "Buck" Mendenhall; his sister-in-law, Jane Neumann; his nephews, Gordon Gran and Troy Pontius; and his great-nephew, Scott Mendenhall. Memorial funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, in the Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel in Miles City. Inurnment followed in the Custer County Cemetery.
