Description	:	Herman E. Reimers (1888 - 1980) Herman E. Reimers was born on Nov. 3,1888 in Otter Creek Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the son of John H. and Ottilia Stegemann Reimers. He died on Sunday November 9,1980 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison Iowa at the age of 92. Herman was raised on a farm in Otter Creek Township. Reimers was born on Nov. 3,1888 in Otter Creek Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the son of John H. and Ottilia Stegemann Reimers. He died on Sunday November 9,1980 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison Iowa at the age of 92. Herman was raised on a farm in Otter Creek Township. He was baptized as an infant at home and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grant Township. Herman received his early education in the rural schools near his home. He later attended the West Brick School in Denison. After attending the Denison Normal and Business College in Denison, Herman served in the U.S Army during World War I. Upon his release from the military he returned to Iowa. He farmed near Schleswig from 1922 until 1949 when he retired and moved to Schleswig. Later in 1968 he made his home with his newphew Clifford Reimers until 1975, when due to ill health he entered Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison. Herman was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. He was also a member of the Schleswig American Legion and V.F.W. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and one neice. Survivors include, five nephews, Clifford Reimers, Wilbur Reimers, John Reimers, George Reimers and Otto Reimers and eight neices, Elsie Reimers, Anne Reimers, Mrs. Lucille Ress, Mrs. Hilda Schau, Mrs. Ida Day, Mrs. Leona Beckstrand, Mrs. Helen Buffum and Mrs. Edna Gardels. Also by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday November 12,1980 at 10:30 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Schleswig, Iowa. The Rev. Theodore Letzring officiated at the services. Pallbearers and full military rites were provided by the Schleswig American Legion and V.F.W.
