Wiese officiating. Music was by Mrs. Ray Schmidt, organist; hymns were "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" by the congregation and "I'm but a Stranger Here" by the choir. Reimers and Ottilie nee Stegemann, was born on July 12, 1883 on a farm east of Schleswig. In infancy he was baptized by Lutheran Pastor Haar and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grant Township in April, 1898. He was joined in marriage to Emma Rehmke on February 21, 1912. The Lord blessed the couple with five children. The young couple began farming at the home place north of Schleswig. His wife Emma died in 1947. He remained on the home place until he moved to Schleswig in 1962. He was a member of this congregation for 52 years and belonged to the Voters Assembly. Since his heart attack in July 1956, his health has been fair. He peacefully passed away in his sleep last Wednesday night. Preceding him in death was his wife Emma, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. He is survived by all his children: Hilda, wife of Herbert Schau of Charter Oak, Elsie of Schleswig, John T. of Charter Oak, Anna of Schleswig and Lucille, wife of Emil Ress of Manning. One brother Herman of Schleswig, one sister Mrs. Henry Schumann of Omaha and 9 grandchildren. He attained to 81 years, 2 months and 19 days. Pallbearers were Dennis Schau, Kenneth Schau, William Kahler, John Dorfler, Frank Dorfler, and John H Moeller. Interment was in Morgan Cemetery.
