Viereck Jr., 52, who died Wednesday will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist church in Miller with the Rev. Donald Greenough officiating. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miller. Herman Frank Viereck was born June 26, 1924 at Kimball to Anna and Herman Viereck Sr. He attended school in Buffalo County as was graduated from Gann Valley High School in 1942. He farmed in Buffalo County. He married Eleanor Brothanek, June 28, 1945, at Duncan Catholic Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge at Mitchell. Survivors are his widow, Eleanor, Gann Valley; four daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Linda) Ness, Kimball, Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Behrends, St. Paul, Mrs. Dihl (Joanne) Grohs, Kimball, Mrs. Tom (Patricia) Ulin, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; his father, Herman F. Viereck Sr., Mitchell; one brother, Virgil, Kimball; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Valerie) Youngs, Mrs. Everett (Alyce) Bates, Mrs. Gene (Virginia) Peters, all of Huron an Mrs. Thomas (Ethel) Ferguson, Philip. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1969. Viereck Jr., was killed Wednesday afternoon in a farming accident on his property seven miles southwest of here. According to the Buffalo County Sheriff Francis, Healy, Vierneck was drilling oats on his farm. He was filling the drill boxes from a truck with an auger and Healy believes that when the truck box was raised, it didn't come down. He said Viereck apparently then went back, reached across and pulled on the cable, causing the box to come down, pinning him between the box and frame. The accident was discovered by James Anderson, Alpena trucker who had driven to the Viereck farm to deliver a load of grain. Healy said the accident occurred sometime after 12 noon.
