Read More	Funeral services for Herman Albers, of Pipestone, Minn., were held in Christ Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon. Interment was in the Grant cemetery. Herman Garieth Albers of Pipestone, Minn., passed away at a local hospital in Pipestone, after a lingering sickness of one month, Thursday morning, July 18, at 7:30 at the age of 70 years, 1 months and 20 days. He was born May 28, 1870, at Monticello, Iowa. In his early infancy he was baptized in the Lutheran church of that place. Later his parents moved from Monticello to Plymouth county, Iowa, and settled on a farm in Grant Township. Here, after being instructed in the doctrine of the Lutheran church he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Lutheran church in Grant Township; November 29, 1893, he united in marriage with Miss Ella Croon. This union was blessed with 9 children, of whom four children preceded him in death. The family resided in Grant Township until 1926, when they moved to Pipestone County, Minn., when they moved to Pipestone County, Minn., where they lived ever since. His wife passed away February 22, 1936. Since then he made his home with his children. Mr. Albers was in good health until a month ago then his Health began to fail rapidly. Wednesday evening he was taken to the hospital. The best care was ministered unto him but he passed away on Thursday morning at 7:30. He is survived by four sons and one daughter, as follows: Mrs. Lena Erks, who on account of sickness, could not be present at the funeral of her father; George Albers, Henry Albers, Ernst Albers, Onnie Albers, all of Pipestone County, Minnesota; also 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. E.J. Rath, of Madison, S.D., and Mrs. Albert Bauman of Grant Township; two brothers, John Albers and George Albers, both of Grant Township, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church of Grant Township Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. H. Flentje of Brunsville preached the sermons both in German and English. The choir of the church sang two beautiful hymns. The funeral was largely attended. Mrs. Albers was an industrious farmer, a devout Christum, a loving father and before he moved to Pipestone County a faithful member of Grant township Lutheran church.
