He grew to manhood in that country and December 24, 1875, was married to Marie K. Petersen. In August, 1877, he came to America, landing in Grand Island, from which place made his way to Dannebrog by team, having made his home here since. He leaves to mourn his death a grand daughter, Anna Reimers, also one daughter, Mrs, William Johnson of Cairo, and seven sons, William, Alfred, Otto, Fred, Bert, Robert, and Anton. His wife and a son, Henry, and an infant son, preceded him in death. Other relatives living are two brothers, Adolph of Dannebrog and William of Rockville; two sisters, Mrs. Chris Smith of Casper, Wyo, and Mrs. John Green of Portland, Oregon. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Rev. A. S. Nielsen officiating, and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends, who came to pay respect to the memory of the departed. Interment was in Oak Ridge cemetery.
