Description	:	Herman Koerselman, 96 Sheldon, formerly of George, passed away January 21, 2004 at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, Iowa. Herman Koerselman, son of Ben and Jennie (Vander Maten) Koerselman, was born July 23, 1907, on a farm south of Boyden. He received his education in a country school near Matlock. He owned and operated Koerselman Brothers Trucking Firm from 1931-1951. He married Lillian Landhuis on June 6, 1934, in Boyden. They made their home in George, where they resided for 67 years. Herman Koerselman, son of Ben and Jennie (Vander Maten) Koerselman, was born July 23, 1907, on a farm south of Boyden. He received his education in a country school near Matlock. He owned and operated Koerselman Brothers Trucking Firm from 1931-1951. He married Lillian Landhuis on June 6, 1934, in Boyden. They made their home in George, where they resided for 67 years. He was a Watkins dealer 1952-1970. He also developed and owned the George Mobile Home Court. They moved into the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon in 2001. He was a longtime member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, where he served as an elder and Sunday School superintendent and was the treasurer of the church for 10 years. He served on the George City Council and George School District Board of Education and helped found and develop Otter Valley Country Club. He was an avid golfer through the age of 96. He and his wife were blessed with the ability to travel extensively. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Koerselman of Sheldon; eight children, Bernard and Darlene Koerselman of Surprise Arizona, Joyce Oatey of Sheldon, Herbert and Arlene Koerselman of Louisville, Kentucky, Mary and Les Roberts of Brainerd, Minnesota, Linda and Cliff Slykhuis of Lincoln, Nebraska, Les and Nancy Koerselman of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Vern and Linda Koerselman of Madelia Minnesota, and Nancy and Him Zattler of Weare, New Hampshire; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucy Eberlien of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Johanna and Harold Kruse of George.
