Killed when their automobile and a large tractor-trailer transport truck collided on a curve at the Louis Filling Station were Herman Dirnberger, 46, driver of the car; Mrs. Antoinette Dirnberger, 39, his wife; Herman Dirnberger, jr., 17, and Gerald Dirnberger, 2. Riding in the back seat with his brothers was Michael Dirnberger, 5, who suffered a severe brain concussion and possible other injuries. He is a patient at St. Francis Hospital where his condition today was reported to be fairly good. Two other children of the family, Dorothy Ann, 9, and Patricia Alma, 12, were at school at the time. Herman Michael William Dirnberger was born April 21, 1912, on a farm two miles south of New Hamburg and had spent his life on the same homestead. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dirnberger. His education was obtained in the New Hamburg schools. He and Mrs. Dirnberger were married on Feb. 1, 1939, and to the union were born the five children. He is also survived by two brothers and five sisters. Arnold Dirnberger, who made his home with the Herman Dirnbergers, and Clement Dirnberger of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Albert Vetter, Mrs. Mary Kent and Mrs. Ray G. Heisserer, all of Oran, Mrs. George Phillips of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lindsey Sowers of Mount Clems, Michigan.
