She passed away on Thursday morning February 23rd at her home west of Hope at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 17 days. She came to this county as a young woman, about 69 years ago. Read More	Pioneer Mother Passes Away Minnie Engel Albright was born on April 6, 1851 in Lonntz, near Lauenburg, Pommern, Germany. She passed away on Thursday morning February 23rd at her home west of Hope at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 17 days. She came to this county as a young woman, about 69 years ago. She was united in marriage to Herman Albright on October 5, 1876 and settled near Hope, Kansas. Mrs. Albright was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran faith in early childhood, and she loved and served the church faithfully and earnestly, never missing services until recent years when illness prevented. Her husband preceded her in death on August 26, 1931. Bereft of her companion, she lived in her own home, with her two sons Will and Louis whom she was much devoted to.. To this union eleven children were born. Two died in infancy and Anna Ziebell in 1916. She is survived by the following: August, Louis, Will and Edward of Hope, Kansas; Mrs. Ida Gnuschke of Leroy, Illinois, Emil of Herington, Herman of Potwin, Kansas and Mrs. Tillie Strauss of Lincolnville, Kansas, twenty-one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. This, in brief, is the life story of a devoted Christian mother. It does not tell of the long years of unceasing toil, of the struggle against poverty, of the hardships and discouragements that followed in the wake of illness and drought, nor does it tell of the spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, nor the anxious hours of watchful waiting and concern for her children, for whom she poured out her life and soul. Surely there is a crown of righteousness for such as these. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and two o'clock at the Lyons Creek Lutheran Church. The Rev.
