She immigrated about 1870. Hermine married Fred Peters about 1874 in Illinois. They were the parents of 6 children: Sophie (1875 IL), Helen (1878), Minnie (1879 IA), Carl Anton (1884), Herman (1886), and Agnes (1890). August 19, 1926 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Fred Peters of Lidderdale died of myocarditis Friday morning, August 13, after being in frail health for a long time. Mrs. Peters was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Onken of Germany and as Miss Hermine Peters was born in Germany, April 22, 1853. When she was 17 years old she came to America and in Illinois 61 years ago was married to Fred Peters, who passed away June 22, 1910. For nearly 51 years she lived on the farm in Sheridan township where she died. She was honored and respected and was a prominent woman in her locality and had the pleasure of seeing her family of splendid girls and boys grow to be helpful women and men in their localities. Of the six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Peters, one daughter, Helen, who was Mrs. Harry Launspach, died June 15, 1910. The surviving children are Sophie (Mrs. Henry Gerdes) of Hinton, Okla.; Minnie (Mrs. Henry Conrad), Dallas, S.D.; Carl Peters of Breda; Herman Peters of Marshall, Minn.; Agnes (Mrs. Carl Moore), of Carroll. She is also survived by four step-children: Frieda (Mrs. Georges Gerdes), of Hinton, Okla.; Fred Peters, Chester, Pa.; Maud (Mrs. Charles Launspach, of Lanesboro; and Mrs. William Arneil of Carroll. Louise (Mrs. Carl Roesche) died June 15, 1915. Surviving are also five sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, 3 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church, this city, Rev. A.J. Mueller officiating. Burial was made in the Carroll cemetery. All of the children were present at the funeral with the exception of Mrs. George Gerdes of Hinton, Okla., and Fred Peters of Chester, Pa.
