Description	:	Hilda C. Horst, 89, of Grandview, WA went to be in the arms of her Savior on Saturday, February 4, 2012. She was born on June 1, 1922 in New Leipzig, N.D. the daughter of William and Ottelia (Hertz) Rauscher. On June 3, 1945 she married Wilbert Arthur Horst in New Leipzig, N.D. The Horst family farmed and in 1950 they moved to Bismarck, N.D. where Wilbert was a building contractor and she was a seamstress. Horst, 89, of Grandview, WA went to be in the arms of her Savior on Saturday, February 4, 2012. She was born on June 1, 1922 in New Leipzig, N.D. the daughter of William and Ottelia (Hertz) Rauscher. On June 3, 1945 she married Wilbert Arthur Horst in New Leipzig, N.D. The Horst family farmed and in 1950 they moved to Bismarck, N.D. where Wilbert was a building contractor and she was a seamstress. In 1957 the family moved to Saint Francisville, LA where Wilbert was in trucking and Hilda continued her work as a seamstress. In 1975 the family came west settling in Granger, WA. They later moved to Grandview where they farmed and began a business harvesting grapes in 1980. Hilda was a member of the Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, quilting and drying fruit. She is survived by three sons, Jerald Horst (Glenda) of Franklinton, LA; Wayne Horst (Kay) and Monte Horst all of Grandview, WA. Three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters, Leola Dietz of Linton, N.D. and Mildred Knodel of San Diego, CA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert in 2010; three sisters, Elsie Zimmerman, Lillie Rauscher and Alta Hamilton; six brothers, Elmer Rauscher, Raymond Rauscher, Henry Rauscher, Gerhardt Rauscher, Ernest Rauscher and Ruben Rauscher. Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to honor Hilda's memory may contribute to the Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church or to the Lower Valley Hospice.
