Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, a two year old boy and infant baby girl, four weeks old, father, Herman Groeling Sr, two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Rokahr was a devoted mother and will not only be missed in her home, but in the community, where she resided. Funeral arrangements will not be made until hearing from a sister, who resides in California. The News extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives. Extracted from: The Creighton News 1 March 1923 ------------------------------------------- Mrs. Hilda, nee Groeling, deceased, was born on October 17, 1892 in Walnut township as the youngest of the nine children of Herman Groeling. She was reared to womanhood at the place of her birth and on Jan. 8, 1919 united in holy wedlock with Henry Rokahr. To the union were born two children, one son and one daughter. The young married couple resided on the farm of the husband's parents. The deceased had suffered poor health the greater portion of her life. It finally culminating in heart failure on Wednesday morning, Febr. 28, which caused, humanly speaking, her untimely death. She leaves to mourn her early departure, three sisters and three brothers, a sorrowing father, a bereaved husband, two children and other relatives and friends. The days of her earthly pilgrimage, she got to 30 years, 4 months and 11 days. The funeral was held on Saturday from the Lutheran church conducted by Rev. Obermeyer, pastor and the remains were laid to rest in the Creighton cemetery. A large concourse of friends were in attendance to pay their final respects to the deceased.
