Description	:	BINGHAM - Hilda (Farrin) Bray, 82, died peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Brighton, the daughter of Harry and Lula (Jewett) Farrin. Hilda came to Bingham in 1934 and graduated from Bingham High School with the class of 1938. Read More	BINGHAM - Hilda (Farrin) Bray, 82, died peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Brighton, the daughter of Harry and Lula (Jewett) Farrin. Hilda came to Bingham in 1934 and graduated from Bingham High School with the class of 1938. She lived with Leslie and Jane Durgin, who helped her through Nurses Training School at Central Maine General Hospital in Lewiston, graduating in 1942. In 1944, she took a post-graduate course to teach student nurses at Simmons College & Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts, and was a supervisor on the pediatrics ward. Hilda received recognition for Meritorious Service from the Federal Security Agency United States Public Health Service for her wartime contribution as an instructor for members of the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps. On March 14, 1945, she married her lifelong partner, Edward Bray of Blanchard. They moved to Bingham in 1948 where she did private duty nursing and for 13 years worked as an Industrial Nurse at the Allen Quimby Veneer Mill. She was a member of the 1st Congregational Church in Bingham and was active in the Eastern Star and the Girl Scouts. Two sisters, Mollie Reynolds and Rheta Doran, and two brothers, Thomas Farrin and Lyman Farrin, and a half-sister, Barbara Martin, died previously. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward Bray of Bingham; her son, Leslie Bray and his wife, Joann, of Gorham, and her daughter, Edythe Gervais and her husband, Ludger, of Skowhegan; grandchildren, Todd Bray and his wife, Stacy, of Dayton, Tricia Gervais of Dayton, Timothy Bray of Gorham, Derek Gervais and his wife, Lori, of Waterville, and Kristy Gervais of Staunton, VA; a beloved great-grand-daughter, Megan Grace Bray of Dayton; a sister, Sarah Malloy of Bingham; a half-brother, Leslie Farrin of Fryeburg, and a half-sister, Madeline Cowette and her husband, Shirley, of Wellington; two stepsisters, Flora Williams of Skowhegan and Ada Small of Athens; brother-in-law, Joseph Doran of Nashua, NH; sisters-in-law, Myrtie Farrin of Harmony and Beatrix Bray of Guilford; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow with the Rev. Douglas W. Drown officiating. Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., Bingham.
