Description	:	Hildegard "Hilda" Elizabeth Hirning, 80, of 809 Ninth Ave. S.E., died Wednesday Oct. 14, 1998, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 S. Main St. The Rev. Dorene King will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Hilda Fischer was born June 12, 1918, to John and Katherina (Kranzler) Fischer in the Long Lake area in McPherson County. She was raised and attended public school in Leola. She worked for the Golden Rule Store in Leola. She married Reinhold Feickert on Nov. 27, 1942, in Leola. He died in a car accident on Aug. 26, 1948. On Aug. 2, 1955, she married Walter Hirning in Aberdeen. She worked for banquets at the Alonzo Ward Hotel and then the Sherman Hotel for several years. After the Sherman Hotel closed, she started working at Northern State College as a custodian in several dorms. She retired from the college in 1978. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church Women, Women of the Moose, Eagles Women's Auxiliary, Aberdeen Area Senior Volunteer and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was involved in many volunteer activities. Survivors include her husband of Aberdeen; two sons, Ronald L. Feickert and Milo Hirning, both of Aberdeen; one daughter, Lucynda Hackler of Stevens Point, Wis.; and five grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one brother and one sister.
