Hildegard was born on June 15, 1925 in Concord, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Christina (Schmidt) Koch. After graduating from Dixon (NE.) High School, she was united in marriage to Paul I. Thomas on August 2, 1948 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Concord, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Stacy, Paulette and Susan. Hildegard was active with the St. Paul Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Concord, Nebraska and Dixon Senior Center, and she enjoyed quilting, gardening and hand embroidery. Hildegard is survived by: son, Stacy Thomas of Pearland, Texas; daughters, Paulette A. (Ken) Wampol of Tabor, South Dakota and Susan M. (Dwain) Stanley of Dixon, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, David (Julie) Humphrey of Lincoln, Nebraska, Biran (Rita) Humphrey of Vermillion, South Dakota and children Zander and Callum Humphrey; Rebecca (Todd) Barner of Wayne, Nebraska and children Morgan, Eli and Jacob Barner of Wayne and Frantzdie and Wanso Barner of Haiti; Steven (Leanay) Stanley of Laurel, Nebraska and children Dusty and Trista Sullivan; Michael (Katie) Stanley of West Point, Nebraska and daughter Paisley Kate Stanley; Mathew Stanley and Kristina Huber of Canton, MDaryland, Jessica Thomas and Jonny Lazono of Pearland, Texas, Brooke Thomas of Hartington, Nebraska, Alyssa Thomas of Pearland, Texas; sisters, Adele M. Koch of Redwood City, California and Martha Smith of Laurel, Nebraska; brother, Helmut J. Koch of South Sioux City, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. SHildegard was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Paul I. Thomas in 1996; five sisters and four brothers. Burial was in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Concord, Nebraska.
