Description	:	HIRAM CROSSEN DIES IN WEST Albany, O. May 16 -- Mr. Hiram Crossen, 68 years old, one of the foremost citizens of Albany, died yesterday at the home of his son, Ira, in Walls, S.D. About two years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Crossen went to South Dakota, where they have been living on a ranch a short distance from Walls, preparatory to making a visit here, when Mr. Crossen died. Read More	HIRAM CROSSEN DIES IN WEST Albany, O. May 16 -- Mr. Hiram Crossen, 68 years old, one of the foremost citizens of Albany, died yesterday at the home of his son, Ira, in Walls, S.D. About two years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Crossen went to South Dakota, where they have been living on a ranch a short distance from Walls, preparatory to making a visit here, when Mr. Crossen died. He was one of the wealthiest and most influential farmers of Athens county. He leaves a wife and two sons, one living in South Dakota, and Samuel, living on the old homestead near this place. The remains will arrive here Saturday, May 18. No arrangements have been made for the funeral. Mr. Crossen was born in Somerset, Pa., in 1843, and came to Athens county with his father Abraham Crossen, in 1845, settling on the home farm near Albany, which has been owned by the family since 1866. His wife's maiden name was Lucinda Allen, to whom he was married in 1866. (The Athens Messenger, Friday, May 17, 1912)
