Description	:	CROSSEN RITES -- Samuel R. Crossen 82, a resident of Union, died Saturday after a long illness. He was the son of Hiram and Lucinda Allen Crossen, a pioneer Lee Township family. He spent most of his life on the old family farm near Albany, except for a few years when the family homesteaded near Rapid City, S.D. During the last few years of his life he resided at Union with a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.H.Stanley. His wife Clo Foster Crossen died in 1953. He was the son of Hiram and Lucinda Allen Crossen, a pioneer Lee Township family. He spent most of his life on the old family farm near Albany, except for a few years when the family homesteaded near Rapid City, S.D. During the last few years of his life he resided at Union with a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.H.Stanley. His wife Clo Foster Crossen died in 1953. A brother, Ira, and an infant sister, Minnie, also died previously. He is survived by a son, Kendell Crossen, and four grandchildren, all of New York City. A brother-in-law, W.C. Foster, Athens Route 1 and sister-in-law, Frances Foster Stanley, also survive. Friends may call at the Hoodlet funeral home at New Marshfield, anytime Monday and until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Alexander Presbyterian Church, Hebardville, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. (The Athens Messenger, Monday, November 19, 1956)
