Survivors include: his wife of 73 years, Janet of Decatur; three sons, Jim (and wife, Paula) Ball of Bella Vista, Ark., Donald (and wife, Janice) Ball and David (and wife, Gloria) Ball, all of Fremont; four daughters, Janene (and husband, Robert) Malzer of Las Vegas, Elizabeth "Libby" (and husband, Eldon) Carlsten of Clitheral, Minn., Harriet Jones of Omaha and Lucinda "Cindy" (and husband, Arlen) Kempcke of Lyons; a brother, Claude (and wife, Bette) Ball of Onawa, Iowa; two, sisters, Luella Beck of Decatur and Lorraine Day of Union Grove, Wis.; 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; five sisters; two grandsons; a granddaughter-in-law; and a daughter-in-law. A sixth sister, Mable Minton, also died on June 10, 2007, just 11 hours after him. The Rev. Philip Sloat will officiate Friday's service. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.
