He came to Iowa when five years of age, which has since been his home until three and a half years ago, during which time he has made his home with his oldest son, C.C. Seamons in Lake Charles, La., where he died July 8th, 1922. He was married to Catherine J. Sighn, April 18th, 1876, at West Union, Iowa, Fayette Co. His wife preceded him in death eight years ago on Feb. 24, 1914. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters, all of whom survive except one daughter, who died in infancy. The children are: Mrs. Sadie Hovey, Lost Nation, Iowa; C.C. Seamons of Lake Charles, La.; C.R. Seamons of Lake Charles, La; R.E. Seamons of Tipton, Iowa; Mrs. Urban Barnhart of Wilton Jct., Ia; and Mrs. John Butterbaugh, Tipton, Iowa. He also leaves one brother E.M. Seamons of Lake Charles, Louisiana and fourteen grandchildren. He was a member of the United Brethren church to which he was faithful and he served his country in the Civil War. Funeral services were conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Butterbaugh at Tipton, Iowa, on Wednesday at 2 o'clock by the Rev. A.W. Straub and interment was made in the Hebron cemetery.
