Description	:	HOLTON --- Holice Lorene Jacobs, 88, Holton, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Holton Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Holton, the daughter of Charles M. and Dora Edith Myers Alley. She was a 1933 graduate of Holton High School and later attended Clark's Business College in Topeka. Mrs. Jacobs was a lifelong resident of the Holton community, briefly living in San Francisco from 1941 to 1945. She worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory for five years, and then was the office manager for Kansas Gas Service in Holton for 15 years and in Hiawatha for seven years. She was... Read More	HOLTON --- Holice Lorene Jacobs, 88, Holton, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Holton Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Holton, the daughter of Charles M. and Dora Edith Myers Alley. She was a 1933 graduate of Holton High School and later attended Clark's Business College in Topeka. Mrs. Jacobs was a lifelong resident of the Holton community, briefly living in San Francisco from 1941 to 1945. She worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory for five years, and then was the office manager for Kansas Gas Service in Holton for 15 years and in Hiawatha for seven years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 1367, OES Chapter No. 152 and a past member of the Rebecca Lodge, all of Holton. She married William C. Jacobs on Sept. 4, 1937, in Holton. He survives. Other survivors include a son, William Robert Jacobs, Las Vegas; and a grandson, Christopher William Jacobs, Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Clowe and Louise Wendt; and by seven brothers, Herbert, Frank, Lonnie, Charles, Marion, Herschel and Roy Alley. A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Holton Hospital, EUM Church in Holton, or American Diabetes Association and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, Kan. 66436.
