Description	:	Holley Fallin Dunn, son of Irene Parker Dunn and Jeremiah Dunn, was born at Hawleyville, Iowa May 23, 1879 and passed away at his home, the first house north of the Nodaway Center School, at 8:30 p.m., January 27, 1949, after being in bed three weeks to the day. Read More	Holley Fallin Dunn, son of Irene Parker Dunn and Jeremiah Dunn, was born at Hawleyville, Iowa May 23, 1879 and passed away at his home, the first house north of the Nodaway Center School, at 8:30 p.m., January 27, 1949, after being in bed three weeks to the day. He had been in poor health most of his life and the thing that had bothered him through the years finally took his life. He was born in a log cabin on their home farm just before his father erected a new house, which was quite modern for that day. He united with the North Grove Methodist Church early in life and remained a member until his death. His word was as good as gold, and he was one who lived Christianity every day. He lived at home and helped with the work there and at neighbors until the time of his wedding. On October 23, 1900 he was united in marriage to Lula B. Howard of Nodaway, Iowa. They rented the west 80 of his mother's farm and started housekeeping there. To this union were born two children, Irene Elizabeth and Oliver Howard. In 1912 he bought the H. D. Bullock farm northwest of Nodaway, Iowa and lived there 27 years. Mrs. Dunn passed away May 30, 1934. He has been a farmer all his life. He loved fine stock and raised thoughbred horses and black Poland China hogs. Of late years he raised purebred Holstein cattle. He took many prizes on his stock. In June 1939, he was united in marriage to Maggie May McFarling. In 1940 he bought the farm in Taylor County known as the Charley Eastman place, where he spent the rest of his life. He was a good husband and father, and loved his home and family very devotedly. He was a great lover of children, especially the little granddaughter who lived in his home and the other grandchildren who lived in Camden, New Jersey. He also loved boys and there was a big place in his heart for anyone who was under-privileged. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Maggie May Dunn; his daughter, Irene Elizabeth McClelland, his son, Orville Howard Dunn of Camden, New Jersey, three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, two sisters, Dolph Goudie of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Mrs. Martha Slack of Villisca, Iowa; two brothers, Delbert Milo Dunn of Topeka, Kansas, and F. B. Dunn of North Grove vicinity, on the old home place; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Hazel Dishover of Ashland, Nebraska, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Sometime before his death, he decided who he wanted to be pall bearers at his funeral and the songs he wanted used, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "In The Sweet Bye And Bye." The scripture, "Oh, death, where is they sting?" and the text, "I know I shall see my Redeemer."
