Description	:	Homer A. Farrar of Fairmont passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva May 29, 1962. Although he hand been in poor health several years, he seemed in his usual health until suffering a stroke at his home Monday May 29. He had been downtown a few hours before. Although he hand been in poor health several years, he seemed in his usual health until suffering a stroke at his home Monday May 29. He had been downtown a few hours before. Homer Alton Farrar was born on a farm just north of Fairmont March 7, 1903. He was a son of Louis and Dora Farrar, and was one of five children. Homer attended the Fairmont public school in 1922. He was married to Sadie Butterbaugh at Fairmont June 30, 1926. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska and graduated there in 1929. He devoted his life to teaching, principally as a Smith-Hughes vocational agriculture teacher. He taught in the schools at Bennet, Filley, Burwell, Barnston, Red Cloud and Fairmont. Mr. and Mrs. Farrar were the parents of two children Joan M. born November 28, 1929, and Ralph L. born November 14, 1934. Homer was a member of the Masonic and Eastern Star lodges and the Federated church of Fairmont. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Joan; son, Ralph; five grandchildren; two brothers, Lester and Lawrence and a sister, Dorothy Lowe. Funeral services were held at the Federated church in Fairmont at 11 a.m., June 1, Rev. Ronald Carr officiating. Mrs. William Boren sang "Perfect Day." A quartet composed of Miss Diane Perkins, Mrs. Federal Bridgman, Ronald Hall and Federal Bridgman, sang "Oh Master Let Me Walk with Thee." Jean Bridgman was accompanist. Pallbearers were Ronald Hall, Leslie Miles Jr., Norman Ogden, Cal Plock, George Thompson and Vernon Wendt. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery with the Masonic lodge in charge of the graveside service. An Eastern Star Memorial service was held at the hall Wednesday evening. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Farrar, Mr. and Mrs. Gen Gish, Georgia and Brian; Mrs. Florence Hungate, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Lowe, L.E. Farrar, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Farrar, Hubert Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Farrar, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Farrar and Roy Butterbaugh.
