Read More	Dora Bender Farrar was born September 14, 1871 in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, and when she was six months old, removed with her parents to Lexington, Nebraska, in the spring of 1872. Six years afterwards, the family removed to Fairmont, where they have resided ever since. September 14, 1892, she was united in marriage to L.M. Farrar, and four children were born to this union: Lester, Lawrence, Homer and Dorothy. In her early youth, she professed the faith and united with the Methodist church, and was ever faithful to her trust, manifesting that sweet spirit exemplified by her Master. She was a member of the Degree of Honor, where she always extended the willing hand in the spirit of Good Samaritianship. Her home was her castle and her very life was poured out into its avenues of service and sacrifice, for which purpose she gave her life. Thus, in the prime of life she is called to leave a sorrowing husband, who will miss a most devoted wife, the three sons and a daughter to whom she had most fully interpreted an exemplary life, which shall ever shine as a day-star in their lives. She also leaves an aged father, T.J. Bender of Fairmont, five brothers and three sisters: Frank of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Lettie Rothwell of Morningside, Sioux City, Iowa; Elwood of Fairmont, Urbanus, who is a missionary at Ladysmyth, South Africa; Mrs. Naomi Miller of Sheldon, Missouri; Mrs. Alda Kellogg of Hilland, South Dakota; Dwight and Hubert of Powell, Wyoming. Thus has an active chapter of a noble life been closed in this world of being, only to be opened to a fuller and more glorious existence in that realm where immortality shall supplant mortality, pain and suffering and become more fully perfected in the likeness of a loving Father. The large host of friends prove that her life was in accordance to and harmony with the God of love. Even though her lips are stilled, her life speaks most emphatically the words of the Master, "Follow Me." During her suffering, she was most patient and ever placed herself in the hands of Him who doeth all things well. "May my life be like the righteous and my end like His." The funeral took place from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, the pastor, Charles P. Lang officiating, assisted by Rev. W. B. Kline and Rev. A.A. Randall of Friend, Nebraska, who was formerly pastor of the local Methodist church, and a close friend of the family. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. The floral remembrances were unusually numerous and handsome. The attendance was among the largest seen here. Among those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Rothwell of Sioux City, Iowa, Miss Oldershaul of Grand Island and Frank Bender of Lincoln.
