Description	:	Pres. Prunty Construction Co. Homer graduated from Brookings High School in 1950, and attended South Dakota State University. Homer served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in Seoul, Korea, where he helped operate the bus system. After the service, he returned to Prunty Construction Company where his hard work helped to make the company successful. Homer's marriage to Marj Phares also brought him a daughter, Karen. After the service, he returned to Prunty Construction Company where his hard work helped to make the company successful. Homer's marriage to Marj Phares also brought him a daughter, Karen. Homer was active in First Church of God in Brookings for many years, and served as Church Treasurer for two years, was a member of the Church Council, and served as president of the church body. He was active in the Men's Brotherhood, and was on the South Dakota State Board for the Church. He drove a school bus to pick up children for Sunday School. He and Marj then attended First Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and was a part of the ushering staff. Homer has served on the Industrial Board to help bring new industry to Brookings. He has been an active member of the Sioux Falls Contractors and a member of the Construction Review Board of Sioux Falls. He has served on the Badger Cemetery Board where his grandparents and great grandmother are buried, and was a member of the Greenwood Cemetery Association. Homer was a member of the American Arbitration Association and was an Arbitrator for 3 different cases involving disputes between cities and contractors, and one between a Stockbroker and a client. Homer and Marj spent part of the winter each year in Mesa, AZ. He officially retired from Prunty Construction in March, 1997.
