SMITH, FORMER AUTO DEALER, DIES AT 88 Homer Wesley Smith, 88, of 159 Penn Avenue, died at Peoples Hospital last night following a long illness. Mr. Smith was born in Ashland County, Feb. 14, 1866, the son of Robert and Cynthia McCready Smith and came to Mansfield in 1891. He was a retired contractor and was once an automobile dealer here. Mr. Smith was born in Ashland County, Feb. 14, 1866, the son of Robert and Cynthia McCready Smith and came to Mansfield in 1891. He was a retired contractor and was once an automobile dealer here. He was a member of the Stone Lutheran Church in Ashland County, Mansfield Lodge No. 35 F and AM, Mansfield Chapter No. 28. RAM and Mansfield Council No. 94, R and SM. Surviving are one son Earl G. Smith and one daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Lane and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren all of Mansfield; one brother Kymbal Smith of Ashland and several nieces and nephews. His wife, Estella Hershey Smith died in 1943. Friends may call at the J. H. Finefrock and Sons Funeral Home where services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. by Dr Carveth P. Mitchell, pastor of the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Strickland Cemetery in Ashland County.
