Caldwell, was born at Edgar, Neb., January 11, 1900 and passed away at the Lutheran hospital in York , Neb., January 8, 1923 at the age of 22 years, 11 months and 27 days. Read More	Horace A Caldwell Laid to Rest Thursday Horace Caldwell, son of Mr and Mrs H. A. Caldwell, was born at Edgar, Neb., January 11, 1900 and passed away at the Lutheran hospital in York , Neb., January 8, 1923 at the age of 22 years, 11 months and 27 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his father, mother, five sisters; Mrs Herman Lehms of Keota, Col.; Mrs Carleton Brookley of Ravenna, Neb. ; Mrs Bernard McCue of Fairfield, Neb.; Sadie, Bertha and Mable; and one brother, Harry, besides a large number of other relatives and a host of friends. On December 3, 1918, word was received by his parents that their son was very sick in Alliance with influenza and pleura pneumonia. For weeks his life hung in the balance but he recovered suffi* to be brought home after eight weeks, only to be hurried back to the hospital to seek relief from the complications that resulted. Hopes were entertained that eventually he might be restored to health but that hope was shaken for repeatedly he went to the hospital and it was on his last visit to the Lutheran hospital at York that the last battle for life was made and lost. When Horace realized that he could not recover, he said, "Come, mother, come, daddy, hold to my hand and let's all of us come smiling thru." The funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Edgar, conducted by the pastor, Rev. William Boyers, and the body was laid to rest in the Edgar Cemetery.
