Description	:	RAPHINE Horace Gordon Weeks, 94, of Raphine, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Ruxton Healthcare of Staunton. Born May 24, 1913, in Augusta County, he was a son of the late Frank Randolph and Katie Lawhorn Weeks. Mr. Weeks had been employed as an operator for Week's Sandbank in Raphine. He was an 80-year member of the Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church in Raphine and enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shoots. Born May 24, 1913, in Augusta County, he was a son of the late Frank Randolph and Katie Lawhorn Weeks. Mr. Weeks had been employed as an operator for Week's Sandbank in Raphine. He was an 80-year member of the Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church in Raphine and enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shoots. In addition to his parents, one son, Hensley Weeks; one brother, Willard Weeks; and two sisters, Phyllis Buchanan and Helen Weeks, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Painter Weeks; one son, Johnny Weeks and his wife, Dana, of Raphine; two daughters, Jeanie Milstead and her husband, Alan, of Verona, Joyce Lassiter and husband, David of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Weeks of Raphine; one brother, Raymond Weeks of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Lena Harris of Waynesboro and Lucille Thompson of Stuarts Draft; seven grandchildren, Carrie Weeks, Michele Berry, Tony Weeks, Scott Weeks, Jason Weeks, Cody Milstead and Ashley Bradley; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Christina, Christopher, Brandon, Megan and Alison; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church with Charles Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Joey Lester, Jay Painter, Alan Milstead, Lonnie Cash, Tony Weeks and Scott Weeks. Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, great grandchildren, Wayne Gordon, Larry Harris, Phillip Painter and Doug Painter. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2007, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in Stuarts Draft. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, 5004 Monument Avenue, Suite 102, Richmond, VA 23230.
