Description	:	Horace John Reinking, 100, retired teacher and former Udall resident, died June 17, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Center in Minneapolis. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tescott. The Rev. Ken Branch will officiate. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery at Tescott. Reinking was born Nov. 28, 1896, in Lawrenceburg, Ind., to William E. and Ida (Minneman) Reinking. He was raised in Tescott and graduated from high school there. During World War I he served in the U.S. Army as a radio sergeant on Corregidor in the Philippines. On June 1, 1922, he married Esther L. Swart in Tescott. She died in 1975. He married Sylvia Atkinson, of Udall, in 1976. She died in 1993. Reinking graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1928. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Phi Delta Kappa fraternity. A grade school principal in Tescott, he later taught math and science in high schools in Tescott, Culver and Simpson. He also taught in Udall schools for many years. After retirement he continued to make his home in Udall until moving to the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center earlier this month. He had celebrated his 100th birthday at a party he gave for his friends at the Udall Senior Center and served as marshal of the Winfield Veterans Day parade in November 1996. Survivors include a son, Victor Reinking, Topeka; a daughter, Esther L. Graves, Springfield, Ohio; a sister, Lulu Reinking, Minneapolis; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
