Description	:	Houson Lawson was the son of Isom and Sarah Randolph from up in Hawkins County, Tennessee. He served in the Mexican War in 1846 in Capt. Lowery's Co H, 2nd Reg't TN Infantry. In the 1850 Census he was in Polk County with his wife, Lourinda, and children, William N., Isom, John T., Pleasant A., and Johnson L. Read More	Houson Lawson was the son of Isom and Sarah Randolph from up in Hawkins County, Tennessee. He served in the Mexican War in 1846 in Capt. Lowery's Co H, 2nd Reg't TN Infantry. In the 1850 Census he was in Polk County with his wife, Lourinda, and children, William N., Isom, John T., Pleasant A., and Johnson L. In 1860 they had moved across the line into Bradley and had added a daughter, Martha. Houson served in Co. I, 10th Reg't TN Cavalry in the Union Army during the Civil War. He mustered in 23 March 1864, was present for all records except when he was sick in the hospital in Nashville during November December 1864. He mustered out 1 August 1865 in Nashville. Houson does not appear in the 1870 census with Lourinda, so must have passed between late 1865-'70, exact death date or burial place is unknown. The 1868 date posted here is a pure 'guesstimate'; please do not use it as anything but that. We respectfully place his memorial here with his wife and several other members of his family. Note: As far as is known, Houson never used a 't' in his name to change it to Houston - it was always Housan or Houson. Contributor # 46780975 says the son's name is Isham Lawson, census records say Isom.
