Description	:	Howard Eissler, 78, Lyndon, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was born, Aug 9, 1927, in Dwight, Kan., the son of Jake and Amanda Thowe Eissler. He lived most of his life in the Vassar and Lyndon communities. He was a farmer and stockman most of his life and had also been a carpenter. He was born, Aug 9, 1927, in Dwight, Kan., the son of Jake and Amanda Thowe Eissler. He lived most of his life in the Vassar and Lyndon communities. He was a farmer and stockman most of his life and had also been a carpenter. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he had been on the finance board and the Trustee board. He had woked with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Senior Citizens Card Club. He married Gwendolyn on June 21, 1952, in Topeka. She preceded him in death on Oct 23, 1999. He married Francis DeLong on Feb 3, 2002, in Vassar. She survives of the home. Other survivors inclue four sons: Clark Gillard, Midland, Texas; Craig Gillard, Overbrook; Ralph Eillser and Loren Eissler, both of Melvern; one daughter, Betsy Hawkins, Topeka; three step-daughters: Ann Wood, Berryton; Ina Hill, Seibert, Colo; and Wyla Manis, Ottawa; one brother, Charles Eissel, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 35 step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Kuntze. Services will be Friday, March 24 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Interment will follow in Vassar Cemetery. He will lie in state from 2-8pm, Thursday, March 23, at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. Memorials may be sent to Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. March 23, 2006 Osage County Herald
