Read More	Howard Eugene Titterington died in Boise, Idaho, on December 16, 2007, following a brief three-week battle with cancer. He was 79 years old. Howard was born on November 11, 1928, in Yakima, Washington, to Robert and Ella Titterington. The third of four brothers, he graduated from Yakima high school and went on to attend Cascade College in Portland, Oregon, for two years. He later transferred to Northwest Nazarene University and received a BA in accounting. After graduating, he worked for a year as an accountant for Montgomery Ward and then enlisted in the Coast Guard. Howard served for three years as the Commanding Officer of a Search and Rescue boat in Port Angeles, Washington. When his term of service was completed in 1954, he began working for Crown Zellerbach consecutively in Port Townsend, Washington, Camas, Washington, and Eureka, California. In 1980, he transferred to Pacific Lumber Company in Scotia, California, where he worked first as Controller and then as Vice President and Secretary of the company. He retired in 1993. Howard married Doris Frymire in 1950. The couple moved to Eureka, California, with their three boys in 1966, and resided there until Doris passed away in 2006. Howard was an active congregant of the Eureka Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a church musician and a member of the board. He also sat on the board of St. Luke Manor in Fortuna, California. In July, 2007, Howard married Vada Kellerer and relocated to Nampa, Idaho, where he lived until his death. Howard enjoyed life in all its many facets. He loved carpentry and remodeling, and delighted to use his skills to help others, particularly at the churches he attended throughout his lifetime. He spent many especially happy hours at Blue Slide Camp in Maple Creek, California, doing construction and maintenance. Above all, Howard was known for his love of people, willingness to serve, optimistic nature, sense of fairness, quick wit, and undying loyalty to family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Howard is survived by his wife, Vada Titterington of Nampa, Idaho; as well as his brothers and their wives, Robert and Eileen Titterington of Seattle, Washington, Kenneth and Norma Titterington of Olympia, Washington, Clarence and Elaine Titterington of Marysville, Washington. He is also survived by his three sons and their wives, Don and Connie Titterington of Newberg, Oregon, Richard Titterington and Rebecca Kilgore of Portland, Oregon, Dwaine and Abby Titterington of Hauser, Idaho. Howard leaves behind seven grandchildren and their spouses, Peter and Rosie Titterington of Tigard, Oregon, Julie Titterington and Dustin Johnston of Wilsonville, Oregon, Jon Titterington of San Diego, California, Troy Switzer of Marshall, IL, Ella and Gina Titterington of Hauser, Idaho, Ian Titterington of Portland, Oregon. Howard's great-grandchildren are Daphne and James Titterington of Tigard, Oregon. His six step-children and their spouses are Elesia and Nat Maffei of Ferndale, California, Alan and Patricia Kellerer of Arcata, California, Karen Kellerer of Sacramento, California, Glen and Debra Kellerer of Daly City, California, Rhonda Kellerer and Eric and Paula Kellerer of Nampa, Idaho. Howard had eleven step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held for Howard in Vancouver, Washington, on December 21, 2007. A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday January 5, 2008, at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Eureka Church of the Nazarene, 2039 E Street, Eureka California. There will be a reception to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Blue Slide Camp and designated to the Howard Titterington Memorial Fund, c/o Eureka Church of the Nazarene.
