Description	:	Howard F. Henderson, 95, of Quaker City, died Tuesday (February 24, 2015) at Cardinal House, Cambridge. He was born February 15, 1920 in Quaker City, son of the late Albert F. Henderson and Etta (Robinson) Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a prominent dairy farmer in the area. He was a former board member of the Farm Home Administration. He was an avid fan of harness racing and attended the Little Brown Jug for many years. Henderson, 95, of Quaker City, died Tuesday (February 24, 2015) at Cardinal House, Cambridge. He was born February 15, 1920 in Quaker City, son of the late Albert F. Henderson and Etta (Robinson) Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a prominent dairy farmer in the area. He was a former board member of the Farm Home Administration. He was an avid fan of harness racing and attended the Little Brown Jug for many years. He was a life-long member of the Middlebourne United Methodist Church, where he had been a trustee and a member of the administrative board. Mr. Henderson served in the 277th Field Artillery Battalion during WWII, participating in the Break Through and the Battle of the Bulge. He was humble, generous, and kind to all he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mable Henderson Fairchild. He is survived by his loving wife of over fifty-five years, Luella (Van Fossen) Henderson, whom he married December 26, 1957; a daughter, Lisa L. Henderson of Pittsburgh PA; and two grandchildren, Luke H. Arnowitt and Luaren H. Arnowitt, and their father, Jerry Arnowitt, all of Pittsburgh PA. Visitation will be held Saturday (February 28, 2015) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services with Pastor Karen Rawlins officiating. Burial at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Middlebourne United Methodist Church, 21566 Bridgewater Road, Quaker City OH 43773.
