Howard Homer Leibert the son of George & Cora Leibert was born on a farm near Sargent on July 28, 1909. He was baptized at an early age in the Methodist Church in Sargent. He attended country school rural district number 8 & graduated in 1926 from Sargent High School. On March 16, 1932 he was untied in marriage to Aledia White at St. Paul, Nebraska. TO this union 3 children were born, Darrell, Donna and Constance. The family lived on a farm north of Sargent until they moved to town in Sargent in 1958. In 1972 he sold the farm & entered into semi-retirement. Later he drove a truck part time for his son. Howard was a member of the school board for 27 years. He served as a 4-H Club leader & was a member of the Sargent IOOF Lodge 162 for 22 years. In the lodge he passed through all the chairs and held various offices including Secretary for 11 years. He was past District Deputy President, District Grand Master and District Deputy Grand Patriot of Encampment of Valley Lodge #58 of Ord. He passed away unexpectedly at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha on Sunday May 11, 1975 at the age of 65 years 9 months 13 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, by 2 brothers Ernest and Ralph and an infant daughter Donna Jean. Survivors include his wife Almedia Leibert of Sargent, 1 son Dick Leibert & 1 daughter Connie Bomberger of Sargent, four grandson, Steve, Rick, Tim & Terry Leibert & 1 granddaughter Marla Kay Bomberger. 1 brother Don Leibert, Sargent 1 sister Mrs Beula Peterson of Omaha and a host of other relatives and friends.
