He graduated from Alliance High School in 1952, and from the technical college in Milford in 1954. He married Carolyn Tollman on Sept. 8, 1957. Krause, 65 Feb. 28) ALLIANCE - Howard J. Krause, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 26, at Box Butte General hospital. he was born Aug. 20, 1934, at Alliance to Bud and Esther (Gasal) Krause. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1952, and from the technical college in Milford in 1954. He married Carolyn Tollman on Sept. 8, 1957. He worked in agriculture in the Alliance area all of his life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and trustee, and as a youth group sponsor for several years. he served as a rural school board member for over 25 years. He also was a board member of R.E.A. for 12 years and the Tri-State board of Denver, Colo. As a 4-H leader for 17 years, he was instrumental in getting the beef carcass contest started at the county fair. His survivors include his wife, Carolyn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Willow and Mark Holoubek of David City and Wendy and Bob Bush of Morrill; six grandchildren, Joe, Luke, Chase and Katie Holoubek of David City and Andrew and Spencer Bush of Morrill. He is also survived by his mother, Esther Krause of Alliance; brother and sister-in-law, Vic and Jane Krause of Alliance; three aunts, Marcella Krause of Alliance and Agnes Gasal and Lois Gasal of Jamestown, N.D.; Uncle Wilbert Gasal of Jamestown, N.D. and nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. His father precedes him in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 1, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance with the Reverend James Kidd officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Presbyterian memorial Scholarship Fund, Prairie haven Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice. Bates-Gould Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
